Northeast Wisconsin Woodland Owners Conference
January 10, 2009 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Northeast Wisconsin Technical College
Green Bay, Wisconsin
Dear Woodland Owner,
You are invited to attend the 2009 Northeast Wisconsin Woodland Owner’s Landowner Conference. Mark your calendar for January 10th and plan to join us in Green Bay. This year’s conference offers a variety of topics that should be of interest to everyone. We will have an up-date on this year’s Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) find in Wisconsin and what you can do to prepare your woodlands for this destructive insect. Many landowners are interested in wetlands on their property or in creating wetlands and so we will have a talk addressing the value of wetlands and about the landowner assistance program “Partners for Fish & Wildlife“. Timber theft and/or timber sale fraud can easily happen to the unsuspecting forest owner. There will be a talk to make you aware of concerns with timber theft and timber sale fraud on private lands and what you can do to protect yourself. Almost every landowner has a chainsaw which is potentially the most dangerous piece of equipment you own. There will be a talk that will review the basics of chainsaw operation and how to use it safely
Cost of the conference is $12 and is limited to the first 250 participants. This has been a popular conference so we are not able to accommodate same day registration.
