January 12, 2008
Northeast Wisconsin Technical College
Green Bay, Wisconsin

Dear Woodland Owner,

You are invited to attend the 2008 Northeast Wisconsin Winter Landowner Conference. Mark your calendar for January 12th and plan to join us in Green Bay. This year’s conference offers topics that should be of interest to everyone. We will have several speakers give you a comprehensive overview of swamp hardwood forests including how best to manage this forest type, Best Management Practices (BMPs) to preserve water quality, considerations for herptiles (salamanders, frogs, toads, turtles, snakes etc), and the forest insects and diseases of concern in 2007. To end the conference we will have a forest tax expert, Geary Searfoss, speak to you about tax considerations for forest landowners including how best to handle timber sale income, and various income tax credits and deductions for forest owners. Geary is not only a forester but also a Certified Public Accountant and is sure to have money-saving tax tips for you.

As always, we will be serving a continental breakfast during registration and the break, to be held in the dining room of the student center. Anyone with an interest in woodland resources is invited to attend this conference.
Please join us and bring a friend!
