The Wisconsin St. Croix Basin Partner Team originated in 1998. This team and others across the state began as part of Department of Natural Resources initiative to better connect citizens with natural resource issues within each basin.

Over the years the St. Croix team has seen a metamorphosis. Our team began with a general partnership approach and no specific focus, the team established priority issues, learned more about these issues and how they were being addressed by citizens and agencies within the Basin. While the team secured grant funding and completed a few educational/planning projects, the team primarily provided education and agency/citizen information sharing for its members.

Like other teams, membership has seen some original members remain and new members have come on board. The team is presently securing funds for one or two primary objectives and formulating a plan to manage dollars and coordinate projects. Since its inception the team has recognized the value of information sharing among members and agency. At each meeting we continue to set aside time to provide updates on projects or issues from each member.
