Big Top performance update
After a lot of negotiating the Park Service will fund ½ of the cost. ($3250.00). Both shows must be open to the public. When they register conference goers will get a ticket to the performance that is good for either the afternoon or evening performance. For the performance alone it will be $15.00 at the door. Even without the fund raising aspect Bayfield County Lakes is still willing to host, but more people may be needed. Big Top will help with promotion for a fee and can do online registration for the shows. Online registration will be $18.00. (A fee is added per head to cover the costs for online registration) Big Top suggested having tickets available in Hayward, Telemark, etc as well. We will still need to work hard on promotion to make this work.

Budget
Roger handed out three budgets, break even, optimistic and pessimistic. Discussed raising the conference price to $45 to ensure keeping in the red. Some feelings that may influence attendance numbers. Roger will recalculate the budget and bring an updated version next meeting with the $40.00 registration remaining. Click here to see the latest Break Even budget.

Jim spoke with the Muskie Fest people and they are willing to include information in their promotions. They are already done with their county brochure, but we are listing.

Business sponsors for the Big Top Show and barbeque was asked about. $500 would cover the barbeque and $3250 is needed for the Big Top outright. In the past Roger has gotten multiple sponsors (able to donate a different levels) in return for names in packet info and introduction PowerPoint. Jan was going to look into a potential larger sponsor.

Draft Schedule
Roger drafted a schedule of the day. Click here to see it. It was noted that evaluations will need to be turned in before the performance.

Next Meeting
February 4th at the Dinner Bell in Trego 10-12pm.
Next meeting we will finalize the agenda, speak about food selection, Conference promotion tasks, Speaker Letters and Subcommittee assignments. Roger will review fund raising.
