Past & ongoing partnership projects include:

  • Lakes Brochure:  to promote shoreland protection.
  • Student Summit on Exotic Species
  • Review and comment to the City of Waukesha on street width requirements.
  • Walworth County Conservation Technician Lakes position (Efforts to secure funding)
  • Distribution of Natural Areas Maps to communities in the basin with a letter encouraging protection when land use issues are decided by Plan Commissions.
  • An educational video to aid local decision-makers in making sound land use decisions.
  • Recommendations for shoreland enhancement and protection for a commercial development on the Pewaukee River.
  • "Outdoor Recreation Opportunities" map: highlights locations for fishing, hiking, and other outdoor activities in the basin.
  • Assistance in developing river-specific community groups, including the Mukwonago River Initiative and the Pewaukee River Partnership.
  • Development of an "Open Space Manual" for private landowners and others who manage large, undeveloped areas with information to maintain and enhance the natural property.
