Much of the Kettle Moraine Northern Unit is rolling topography and a mixture of state-owned and private land. This hayfield is contoured and leaves wildlife habitat on the steepest slopes. There are some acres of state-owned Kettle Moraine property in the basin, while the remainder of the state forest Northern Unit extends southward into the Milwaukee River Basin.
