Rock River Basin Groundwater Guardian Program

The Rock River Coalition is a Groundwater Guardian Affiliate, meaning they help others become a groundwater guardian community and they promote groundwater protection.

Groundwater Guardian (GG), is a program of The Groundwater Foundation

  • supports, recognizes and connects communities taking voluntary, proactive steps toward comprehensive groundwater protection
  • educates and empowers local citizens to tackle water issues
  • builds partnerships within communities to work toward a common goal or project

The national Groundwater Guardian program began in 1994 with 8 communities, and has grown to 150+ communities in 36 states and 2 Canadian Provinces. Currently, there are 16 Wisconsin GG teams.
