LOWER CHIPPEWA RIVER BASIN PARTNERSHIP

Initially the Lower Chippewa Partner Team focused their resources on issues and projects related to the proposed Lower Chippewa Natural Area Feasibility Study.  As the Feasibility Study was nearing completion the Partner Team began discussing its future. The original Partner Team made the decision to expand its membership in order to represent the entire Lower Chippewa River Basin both in terms of the geographic boundary and natural resource issues of the basin.

The formation the Lower Chippewa Basin Partner Team has increased the opportunity for discussion and sharing of ideas concerning the natural resources within the Lower Chippewa River Basin.  Members of the Partner Team have the opportunity to  identify critical resource issues in the basin, recommend management projects and/or solutions, and suggest common implementation plans to address those issues.  A goal of the Basin Partnership Initiative is to increase the coordination among partners as they work together towards addressing common resource management priorities in the Lower Chippewa River Basin.

MISSION: "The Lower Chippewa Partnership is committed to protect, restore, and sustain the natural resources of the basin. The Partnership promotes comprehensive resource management, information exchange, inter-governmental coordination,
and citizen involvement."

VISION: "A Lower Chippewa River Basin with a sustained and restored ecosystem
that offers a healthy environment, strong economy, and high quality of life
for current and future generations."
