Forest Management Practices to Improve Wildlife
Terry Haindfield, Wildlife Biologist, Iowa DNR, Decorah, IA

Allowing forests to mature on their own is almost always a poor practice, especially for wildlife. Learn some forest management activities to maximize wildlife habitat.

Terry Haindfield has been a wildlife technician or biologist for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources for 25 years. After graduating from Iowa State University with a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Biology, Terry has been with the Upper Iowa Wildlife Unit in the forested region of northeast Iowa. He has a keen interest in managing the forest habitats on Iowa DNR Wildlife Management Areas. Terry believes active forest management is a necessity to maximize wildlife habitats. He resides with his family near Highlandville, Iowa .
