James K. Warren

James K. Warren is currently the Chief of the Forest Lands Section within the Bureau of Forest Management, Wisconsin DNR Division of Forestry. This section includes administration and implementation for programs dealing with State Forests , Tribal Liaison, Urban Forestry, Private Forestry, Forest Incentives/Legacy, and County Forests . Previous to employment with the Wisconsin DNR Division of Forestry, Jim spent 12 years with the West Virginia Division of Forestry, holding several positions, including County Service Forester, Water Quality Forester, and the Forest Management Assistant State Forester. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Forestry from the University of Wisconsin . Jim enjoys spending time at his family's place in Grant County along the Mississippi River hunting, fishing, and boating. His time in Grant County was the inspiration to pursue forestry as a career and choose Wisconsin for his education.
