Guy Sternberg

Guy Sternberg is the arboretum manager, consultant, and lecturer for Starhill Forest Arboretum in Petersburg , Illinois . He received his B.S. in Horticulture and Landscape Architecture from Purdue University , and served on the staff of the IL Department of Natural Resources for 32 years. He works with the National Famous and Historic Tree Program and the Champion Trees Project to promote awareness and appreciation of special and historic trees. Guy is the principal author and photographer for Landscaping with Native Trees , and published a sequel to it titled Native Trees for North American Landscapes . He is under contract with Timber Press as lead author, editor, and photographer for a worldwide reference book on the oak genus Quercus. Guy also has been a contributor for several horticulture books, including Taylor's Master Guide to Gardening , and has provided papers and photographs for many magazines and journals.
