Lisa Schulte and Mark Rickenbach

Lisa Schulte is an Assistant Professor of landscape ecology at Iowa State University .  Her research focuses on landscape patterns and dynamics, emphasizing change across long time periods and broad spatial scales.  She studies forests of the northern Great Lakes region and Midwestern Driftless Area, and agroecosystems of the U.S. Corn Belt.

Mark Rickenbach is an Associate Professor in the Department of Forest Ecology and Management at the University of Wisconsin in Madison .  Mark's research and extension program is in the area of forest policy and management. His current research projects cover three areas: (1) cross-boundary cooperation by private forest owners, (2) forest parcelization and the logging sector, and (3) policy analysis of alternative mechanisms (e.g., cooperatives, bio-energy) to maintain and improve forests. His extension program seeks to increase knowledge of and discussion by policymakers, resource professionals, landowners, and the public on forests and the benefits they provide to individuals and society. Mark has degrees from Penn State , UMass-Amherst, and Oregon State University.
