Jay Hayek Jay Hayek is an Extension Forester with the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to joining the University of Illinois , Jay worked as a District Forester for the Illinois DNR. He has an M.S. degree in Forest Resources with emphasis in Silviculture from the University of Idaho , and a B.S. degree in Forest Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Jay's research interests include hardwood silviculture, rehabilitation of degraded hardwood stands, crop tree management of fine hardwoods, and floodplain afforestation.
