North Central Wisconsin Stormwater Coalition
Who we are and what we do...

Marathon County; the Cities of Marshfield, Merrill, Mosinee, Schofield, Stevens Point, Wausau and Wisconsin Rapids; the Villages of Kronenwetter, Rothschild and Weston; and the Town of Rib Mountain have formed the North Central Wisconsin Stormwater Coalition. The Coalition is working to address stormwater issues in North Central Wisconsin. Stormwater is water that accumulates on land as a result of storms and can include runoff from urban areas such as roads and roofs.

North Central Wisconsin Stormwater Coalition vision
How we do it...
The North Central Wisconsin Stormwater Coalition is devoted to sustaining water quality in the basin by focusing on public education and coordination of local groups.

North Central Wisconsin Stormwater Coalition is a proud sponsor of the
Wisconsin River Clean-up.

Rain as a Resource...
Plants love untreated rain water. Consider installing a rain barrel to collect the rain from your roof. Want to build a rain barrel, check out these instructions.

Check out our Events page for details on upcoming workshops in Wausau and Marshfield to build your own barrel..

Rain gardens...
Another option is to capture the rain running off your roof, sidewalk and driveway through a rain garden. Download our "How To Manual"
